I teach more than software.

I’ve spent more than 20 years working in post-production and teaching editors and creative professionals.

I came to editing through storytelling, and that still shapes how I teach. I’ve worked with everything from Avid and early Final Cut Pro to Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve. The tools change. The fundamentals don’t.

I’m an Adobe Certified Instructor and Blackmagic Design Certified Instructor, and I’ve trained professionals at organizations including CNN, Turner, the Federal Reserve Bank, and the American Petroleum Institute.

My approach is practical. I’m less interested in showing you every button than helping you understand why and when to use the tools—and how they fit into the way you actually work.

Clay was patient enough to teach someone with little to no background in digital video editing. I was able to learn enough skills to do regular editing for a website and for a YouTube channel that I shoot video for.. I highly recommend him. I was a bit hesitant about an online video editing class since I'm not very tech savvy, but Clay was an excellent instructor. Clay was very encouraging and helpful. He gave a lot of useful links and resources related to video and audio editing. I really liked his teaching style.
